Mountain Lake Biological Station files [manuscript], 1820, 1933-2002.

The collection contains historical information including the Civil War and the Mountain Lake area, staff lists and histories; information on the cottages including layot and biographies of sceintists for whom they were named; drawings and illustrations, financial information; a resident faculty proposal and evaluation by Richard T. Hartman and Warren H. Wagner, Jr., ; a patch design, posters; clippings; photographs; postcards; prints of mushrooms and plants; a report by Horton H. Hobbs, 1957; songs; an admittance card for a Harvard lecture, 1820; and a visiting committee review for the Dept. of Biology. Of interest is "A trip to New River, Salt Pond, Bald Knob, and Little Stoney Creek 1871" by Edward Alfred Pollard. The collection also contains an audiocassette of an acceptance speech at a ceremony dedicating a bust to the late Bruce D. Reynolds; a videocassette of a 1988 dedication ceremony with Katharine Reynolds; and an audiotape and copy of a speech by Ivey Foreman Lewis on the History of Mountain Lake, 1957. In addition the collection contains 4 printing blocks (two linoleum blocks, one wood block, one copper) and a set of type punches.
